Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME universal domain name extension is the single TLD planned for personal web pages only. These domain names can be personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other titles people are famous by. At the beginning, only third-level registrations were allowed, so if you wanted to register john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already bought 3rd-level names remained working.

You will have the opportunity to edit the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization code from the current domain provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no particular rules on who can grab a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the goal behind its creation alive, the Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
